With the breakouts of world-wide epidemic disease, many governments around the world have stood at a crossroads of choices, either economy or quarantine. In the middle of winter and holidays, a lot of countries have recently seen the highest record of daily covid and the number of deaths. The Korean government also recorded the highest number of daily COVID19 case, 1,237, on 24/12/2020 and the highest deaths, 40, 28/12/2020. To prevent any chance of infection, it is very important to restrict the population movement.
To obtain insights about the overall population flow of Korea, we have collected the data of population movement of major rest stops from the LBASense, the real-time analytics of DFRC. During Christmas and New year’s day, the visitor count maintained a similar level from weekdays. Also, the average duration of those days stayed even below that of weekdays.
